Every generation has had the privilege to enjoy what others may not have had, and the same goes for every other that follows. 

I remember someone once told me that when life was simpler there were no complications or much to worry about, values and respect were indisputably part of our society. On the other hand, in modern days, most things have become a custom rather than an action from the heart that is pursued with great honor and respect. 

As change is an irrevocable part of our existence, we should always embrace it without forgetting the true meaning and value of the things we do and why we perform them. 

Back in our school days, my generation had the privilege to enjoy the emotion and adrenaline that maybe most are enjoying today or even some had over 30 years ago, all in their own time and reality.  

Despite those changes that come with every era, let’s not forget the true meaning of what makes us who we are, and to be proud of our motherland, our culture, and our identity. 

Patriotism is based on the things we do to make our surroundings a better place every day, with small actions that, with time, show great results. Never forget that!

To all the young generation, enjoy the present and embrace the spotlight, but never forget to do what's right! 

Happy 14 of September and Independence Day festivities! 

Love is the sound the birds make in the morning, or the melody of the ocean waves on a calm and starry night.

It is the satisfaction of feeling belonging or being around your loved ones and seeing them happy. 

Love is the sound of the rain on a cold evening, or the colour of the sky right after sunset on a long summer day. 

It is the feeling of accomplishment after what seems eternal or impossible, a song or a smell that provokes a smile on your face. 

Love is the taste of a well-cooked meal, an unexpected visit, a call, a message, or a gesture from those you love. 

It is a long walk on the beach, wandering through the trees or near the waterside, contemplating the heavens in the silence of the night. 

Love is where your heart is, your family, your friends, your partner, or yourself. It is enjoying life as it is with its ups and downs, finding peace, happiness, and a purpose. Love is a smile and the gift of life itself.

Hoy amanecí agradecido por otro año más de vida, por mi familia, por la gente buena que tengo a mi alrededor, las oportunidades, las experiencias y todo aprendizaje que me ha traído estos años. 

La vida puede ser a veces de caminos barrosos y angostos, pero no hay nada imposible si crees en ti mismo, si depositas tu confianza en el Todopoderoso y te rodeas de las personas correctas. 

Todo es cuestión de estar comprometido con lo que realmente vale la pena, de encontrar nuestro propósito de existir, amar, de ser feliz, leal y fiel a uno mismo.
 
Mi gratitud a todos por sus buenos deseos en este día, agradezco de corazón cada gesto y palabra extendida.

Today I woke up grateful for another year of life, for my family, for the wonderful people around me, for life's opportunities and experiences, and for all the lessons that these years have brought me.

Life can sometimes be bumpy and of narrow roads, but nothing is impossible if you believe in yourself, if you place your trust in the Almighty, and surround yourself with the right people.

It's all a matter of being committed to what is worthwhile, of finding your purpose to exist, to love, to be happy, loyal, and true to yourself.

I extend my gratitude to everyone for their good wishes on this day, I truly appreciate each gesture and word.

Crecer, envejecer, madurar —o a como lo queramos llamar— implica dejar atrás algunos hábitos, ambiciones e individuos, cerrar capítulos.

Nuestro andar se trata de superar etapas —sean buenas o no—, vencer el sentimiento de nostalgia o de melancolía que nos persigue en ocasiones, aferrándonos a lo que fue.

Seguir nuestro camino por esta realidad prefabricada llamada vida es nadar en un mar de probabilidades, recorrer un campo en plena primavera y otoño, o perseguir el abismo del extenso azul.

Al final, el pasado-presente-futuro es y será consecuencia de lo que era y es todo. Existir con un propósito, la razón de seguir andando.

A casi ocho meses de haber presentado los resultados finales de mi tesis monográfica para concluir mis estudios de licenciatura en Comunicación Social, después de siete años, regresé a mi antiguo colegio para compartir parte de mi trabajo.

El día 6 de mayo de 2022, tuve el privilegio de regresar al Colegio Bautista Ebenezer, donde estudié por cinco años la secundaria, para poder compartir con el claustro de docentes y estudiantes los resultados de mi tesis monográfica de pregrado «Valoración del uso cotidiano y aprendizaje formal de la lengua creole en el municipio de Corn Island de la Región Autónoma Costa Caribe Sur de Nicaragua» y también para hablar sobre la importancia de sentirse orgulloso de nuestras raíces como caribeños y personas afrodescendientes.

El espacio se me fue concedido por la dirección del centro escolar, donde pude presentar ante toda la secundaria los resultados de este estudio, además sobre como llegó a existir la lengua que habla las personas creoles y cuál es el rol del inglés estándar en Corn Island.

Además de los estudiantes y docentes, también me acompañaron en esta presentación algunas personas quienes contribuyeron en el desarrollo de mi investigación y familiares. Al finalizar mi presentación, entregué un ejemplar de la monografía a la biblioteca del colegio, para que pueda servir como referencia para futuras investigaciones y para enriquecer los conocimientos de los estudiantes.

Sin duda alguna, fue gratificante regresar donde recibí mi formación preuniversitaria y hablar en el mismo podio donde solía compartir en determinados momentos cuando era estudiante.

Sometimes I lose track of the days and suddenly forget that time is not static, and that we will never be the same as we were a year or ten years ago.

We are constantly searching for ourselves in other people, in music, movies, poetry, books, or even in the past, losing our minds in time itself.

What does it mean to be happy? it's the feeling that you belong somewhere somehow —no matter where or who you are with.

Happiness means being yourself and enjoying the simplicity of life, a cold and rainy morning, a cloudy evening, the sunset, and the sound of the ocean at night.

It's the smile that an old photograph brings to your face, happiness is enjoying your grandparents, parents, siblings, and friends' company.

A simply sound or smell, a memory of some kind, an honest hug, or a long walk at night. A good book, movie, or series.

Being happy is not a choice, it's a lifestyle that can even be found in nostalgia, bringing joy to our hearts.
