Another year of life brings new lessons, experiences, and opportunities. I am grateful for all of life's gifts, every blessing, and the good people who have crossed my path. I trust that the journey ahead will continue to be rewarding.

On World Environment Day, the message remains the as same every year: to care for our natural heritage through sustainable practices that benefit nature and all its species.

Our greatest legacy to future generations is environmental awareness and preserving the resources we enjoy today.

On International Women's Day, we celebrate the remarkable achievements of women throughout history and from around the world, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to every aspect of society. From revolutionary scientific discoveries to pivotal advancements in civil rights, women have continually shattered barriers and challenged norms, reshaping the world we live in today.

Today, let us reaffirm our commitment to gender equality and honour the indomitable spirit of women everywhere, who continue to shape our world for the better.

Today, Caribbean Nicaragua celebrates its autonomous elections, where people from various Indigenous, Afrodescendant and ethnic communities vote for the regional legislature to form our government. 

From my home in the UK, I proudly raise the Autonomy flag, also known as the flag of Caribbean Nicaragua. It symbolizes our resilient history, achievements and rich cultural and linguistic heritage.

As a Creole person born and raised in Caribbean Nicaragua —and who has served locally for various years in the academic, cultural and youth sectors— I recognize the importance of continuing to strengthen the autonomy regime and working towards fully achieving ancestral rights across different areas.

It is in our hands, as young professionals, to continue working to build the land we dream of and that our ancestors so desired.

El periodismo es una labor que debe ser asumida con responsabilidad, ética y una aptitud humanista. No solo implica informar, sino también crear conciencia, promover valores y contribuir a la construcción de la sociedad.

En el Día del Periodista Nicaragüense, quiero extender un cálido saludo a mis colegas, mujeres y hombres de prensa y de la comunicología, quienes se dedican a esta bonita labor.

This year will be remembered for the events that took place around us and those that impacted our lives positively and negatively.

In the midst of it all, let us take a moment to reflect on the past months and express gratitude for the people, moments, and lessons that 2023 has brought us.

With hope and renewed strength for the coming 2024, let us continue to fight our battles, whether to improve ourselves or help better our surroundings, remembering that anything is possible—even when it seems dim.

Wherever you may find yourself, I hope you can discover solace within and cherish the company of the people you love. May all your aspirations and goals find fulfilment in the coming year.

Este año será recordado por los acontecimientos que ocurrieron en nuestro entorno y los que impactaron positiva y negativamente nuestras vidas.

En medio de todo ello, tomémonos un momento para reflexionar sobre los pasados meses y mostrar gratitud por las personas, los momentos y las lecciones que nos ha traído 2023.

Con esperanza y fuerzas renovadas para el próximo 2024, sigamos librando nuestras batallas, ya sea para mejorarnos a nosotros mismos o para ayudar a mejorar nuestro entorno, recordando que todo es posible, incluso cuando parece poco prometedor.

Dondequiera que te encuentras, espero que puedas encontrar tranquilidad en tu interior y disfrutar de la compañía de tus seres queridos. Que todas tus aspiraciones y objetivos se cumplan en el próximo año.
