30 October is a day to celebrate the diversity of Caribbean Nicaragua society, a moment to collectively acknowledge our history, struggles, ancestral and rightful claims and to celebrate achievements.
Whether you are Miskito, Creole, Rama, Garifuna, Mayangna or Ulwa, this land of ancestral wisdom and blessed grounds is yours. It is your responsibility to maintain it, your identity and ancestral values, so they can continue to prevail in the coming years.
Autonomy means knowing your origins, embracing your present and building the society that everyone deserves. It is part of who we are and we should always make it part of our day-to-day life.
